I'm getting back into the studio, now that summer is almost over, and will be making more of an effort to keep my blog up to date. Just finished three smaller scarves as a commission. Well, the order was for two, but I wasn't sure about the first one, so made a second one with the same colours, just in case. My client can't decide which one she likes better. The third one, a green one, was a hit also! Phew! Commissions can be nerve racking for me...never sure if the finished product will match the client's vision. I'll post photos of these newest pieces soon.

It's my feature month at Red Tree Gallery www.redtreegallery.ca here on Pender, so I made these pieces for the show. All my wearable art pieces are given a title. Sometimes I know the name right away, it's as if it is telling me its name, and other times it takes awhile for just the right name to come to me. My husband is often a big help with naming pieces. I hope you like see my work - finally got some photos put on here!

“Tofino Tide Pools”–Hand felted wearable art wrap
Photo coming soon….after the June 3rd bridal tea!
Just finished this Wrap for my new sister-in-law to be – a bridal shower gift.
I made this piece with teal, blue and soft chartreuse Merino wools, hand dyed silk from Treenway Silks and kettle dyed mohair locks on teal/blue iridescent silk chiffon. It felted really quite quickly, although the bit of lime green Corriedale wool I had added for a little accent colour took longer and some direct attention to get it to attach. Guess I’m just spoiled by the Merino, which felts like a dream.

Welcome to my blog! I am excited to have a web presence, finally. I'll put up photos of my latest work and some older pieces in the next few days. There will be a separate post that shows and explains the hand felting process coming soon.
