Day 3 - March Meet the Maker challenge. A Flatlay, a word which I learned only yesterday, meaning a flat display of items, photographed from above. Rather than the usual items one might put in, I thought it would be fun to show some of the fibres I use (other than sheep). From the top left moving clockwise: 1. Hand dyed Mohair goat locks (aren't they shiny?) 2. Dyed wool neps (little waste wool balls - great for surface texture) 3. Sari silk waste (recycled sari fabric all shredded up) 4. Hand dyed silk fibres (soo luxurious) 5. Dyed hemp fibre (just slightly more coarse than silk) 6. Rose plant fibre (yes! Rose - the flower. Cool, eh?) (I have pearl fibre, too 😆) 7. Soy silk fibre (yes, from soy beans!) All of these are great for adding texture, design, movement, colour and shine to my felt art. . . #marchmeetthemaker #marchmeetthemaker2019 #meetthemaker2019day2 #penderislandbc #penderartist #handmade #feltart #feltartist #flatlay #silkfibre #woolneps #mohairlocks #soysilk #rosefibre #hemp #MBarchive
